A new website called Managing Your Digital Life is giving away a free Drobo each month just for linking to their site. So, here is the link!
In case you are wondering, a Drobo is essentially a hard drive enclosure. But, it is much more than that for a few reasons. First of all, you can put up to four hard drives in at once. But the great thing is, when you connect Drobo to your computer, it only see's one drive, not four. The other fantastic part about Drobo is that it is completely reduntant, as long as you have at least two drives loaded. Even if one drive fails, all of your data is backed up on the other drives.
You may be wondering if I can speak for myself from experience. Well, unfortunately I cannot. The one issue I have with Drobo is that it is not the cheapest product out there. But it is still cheaper (and easier to set up) than RAID. In addition, I do not really have enough items (not yet anyway) to justify purchasing one. But it is only a matter of time.
