Messages and Newspapers

We had 20 messages on our answering machine yesterday when we came home. We've been having trouble getting our paper delivered correctly, on time, or at all (yes, we still get a paper, but only on Thursday and Sunday). So, my wife called to complain and have them drop it off.

The paper company thought it would be smart to call our home phone and find out if our paper had been delivered correctly, since they were going out of their way to specially deliver it. What did we hear on our machine, twenty times I might add?

"Press one if your paper was delivered correctly...BEEP"

You would think that with the technology they have these days the system would figure out it was talking to an answering machine since no one was pressing a button.

Then again, we do still get a paper, so I suppose I shouldn't complain.
